If you are planning to sell one item or the entire contents of a home, an appraisal gives you peace of mind and helps you avoid costly errors. It is an extremely useful tool in dividing an estate equally among family members. An experienced outsider who is not affected by sentimental value, is often the best judge to determine the value of the objects in your home or estate. Knowing the value of an object ten to twenty years ago, does not necessarily reflect the current value. Some items have gone out of fashion and other like Canadian Art have increased.
